Alzheimer’s Treatment Potential, New Approaches:
(just Like Gardasil, another)
Shot Heard ‘Round The World, mortals!1!
Neuroscientists from UCLA and USC inject an Alzheimer’s patient with an anti-Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) agent called etanercept (brand name Enbrel)
-And the patient shows Marked cognitive improvement within minutes.
The published papers focus on only 1 of the patients, though many others are said to also have marked improvement.
The theory doctors Edward Tobinick and Hyman Gross used for their experiment was the finding of Overexpressed TNF in the brains of Alzheimer’s patients. TNF regulates impulses, too much can over-regulate them, so block some of it. Ergo, ==> Miracle.
There is nothing we can say better than Sue Griffin, PhD who commented on the study and who’s work paved the way for its experiments.
Says Sue,
“It is imperative that the medical and scientific communities immediately undertake to further investigate and characterize the physiologic mechanisms involved. This gives all of us in Alzheimer’s research a tremendous new clue about new avenues of research, which is so exciting and so needed in the field of Alzheimer’s. Even though this report predominantly discusses a single patient, it is of significant scientific interest because of the potential insight it may give into the processes involved in the brain dysfunction of Alzheimer’s.”
Etanercept is also used to treat a number of immune-related disorders.
Could Enbrel be the Lipitor of Brain Crud?
